iPhone 3GS FAIL?

posted by The Tech Buzz on Jun.20, 2009, under News

Today a friend of mine, Patrick Hays sent me an interesting screen shot. The shot consisted of a video he made on his 3GS. One problem with it. He couldn’t watch it! He made the video on his phone, uploaded it from his phone, then tried to watch it from his phone. Epic fail! Are we going to be seeing a fast update to 3.0 software? Just today I had some issues uploading a video from my iPhone 3GS to youtube. Out of a total of 20 tries I was able to upload 2 videos. It kept telling me, that it couldn’t upload it. Come on Apple, lets get it together. I’ll keep you posted as I hear and see more. Take a look for yourself. Until next time, Keep it buzzin’

I’m sure sites like YouTube and even the AT&T network are a bit overloaded right now. All YouTube videos have to encode to be able to play on iPhone. Remember, YouTube converts the videos to .flv, a flash format, which we know that the iPhone (sadly) cannot play. It is strange, but iPhone videos are the same as other videos, in that they have to be converted to play on iPhone.
