Safari Beta 4.0

posted by The Tech Buzz on Feb.26, 2009, under News

Well I recently installed Safari Beta 4.0 on both my iMac and macbook and I must say I’m impressed. Now I’ve read a lot of reviews saying how people don’t like that the tab bar is now above the url bar and not below it. I think that is nicer more effective. I also really like the cover flow view when clicking on the “plus” sign. Basically because it’s less typing and you can see either your top sites or the sites you have visited the most. The cons I think would have to be the fact that when you do select a site from the cover flow view, does take a little bit to load. I’m hoping apple fixes that in the final release. Other than that. I strongly recommend downloading it. Now I stated I downloaded it for my iMac and macbook, but I also did for my Vista box. You can get it now for Mac or PC. Simply click on Safari Until next time, Keep it Buzzin’

Possible Photo of New Mac Mini?

posted by The Tech Buzz on Feb.19, 2009, under News

Possible leaked photo of the new Mac Mini was posted in the MacRumors forum. Here is the picture.

The original leaker also claimed the following specs:

- Intel Core 2 Duo
- 2GHz
- 3MB L2 cache
- 2GB RAM DDR III, 1066MHz
                                                                                                                                            - Super Drive is SATA

The port configuration is consistent with previous rumors that the new Mac mini would bring improved specs. Specifically, the new Mini was described to have 5 USB ports, FireWire 800, and two Display ports (Mini DisplayPort and Mini DVI). All these can be found on the leaked photograph. I’ll keep everyone posted on future developments, until then Keep it Buzzin’

***UPDATE **** Now a video to go with the picture!

How to share multiple files with MobileMe iDisk

posted by The Tech Buzz on Feb.19, 2009, under Tutorials

Now there is a way with the new iDisk to share multiple files at one time. It can be done very easily using the Compress command in the iDisk web application. Here is how you can do it:

1) Select the files or folders you want to share. (To select multiple files hold down the Command key on a Mac or the Control key on a PC as you click on each one.)

2) Use the Actions menu via the Gear icon in the Toolbar, and select Compress items. This will automatically create a single compressed file named Archive.zip that contains your files or folders.

3) Share Archive.zip file just as you would any other iDisk file. (Before you share it, you can change the “Archive” part of the name to something more descriptive, but keep the .zip extension so the receiver’s computer will know to decompress the files when the receiver opens it.)

I hope this makes your MobileMe experience even better. Until next time, Keep it Buzzin’

iMacs and Mac Mini’s

posted by The Tech Buzz on Feb.19, 2009, under News

Recent reports and investigation has put to rest the fact that apple WILL NOT be releasing an updated Mac Mini or iMac. Reasons for this decision are simply, the economy is not in any position to handle a refresh on expensive products like that, simply because the whooo’s and wows will not sell products. Apple will not release products that people are just going to look at but not buy. I was hoping for a mac mini refresh but unfortunately the only refresh that will be coming down the line is going to be a new iPhone. Set for June release. This is still speculation but the odds are good. Again stay tuned for more reports and I’ll keep everyone posted. Until then, Keep it Buzzin’

Break

posted by The Tech Buzz on Feb.11, 2009, under News

In case any of you are wondering why you haven’t seen me in a few days, there is nothing wrong. I have the flu right now and I’m taking a little break. For how long I don’t know. I realized there are allot more important things in life I should be focusing my time and effort to. I am thinking of awesome ways to re-invent The Tech Buzz along with The Dude and Shawn. Please don’t ask them for information, they are sworn to secrecy as we have seen our ideas get stolen time and time again. I could be gone from a few days, to a few weeks, maybe a few months. Some may say that I will loose my following, well thats a chance I have to take. The ones that really want to be following me, and the ones that really appreciate the show will linger and wait. I have really been burning the candle at both ends and frankly, I’ve burned out. You guys count on the show for tech support and news and I thought after a year things would pick up. Instead I have people coming in and accusing me of copying someone. So I have made a decision to take some time off, and come back and re-invent myself and The Tech Buzz. Thanks for being patient, keep watch of my twitter and blog. You will know when I’m back, don’t worry. Remember, keep it buzzin’
